We recently caught up with the Chief Designer at Armin Strom to talk about the manufacture’s new “resonance” series.
Perpetuelle: It’s been about 1.5 years now since you introduced your innovative new resonance caliber ARF15. And of coursewe recently saw the introduction of your second resonance caliber, the ARF16, which adopted a slightly simpler single subsidiary seconds dial vs. the ARF15’s twin flyback seconds displays. What’s next on your “resonance roadmap” "
Claude Greisler, Armin Strom:
The potential which we have with the Resonance movement is very big. The fact that we are using two independent movement give us a lot of possibilities in order to add supplementary functionalities on the movement. The ?resonance roadmap? is only at its starting point and still very long.
Perpetuelle: A resonance caliber seems a fairly advanced and sophisticated concept for the average watch enthusiast. Why have you chosen to focus your recent development efforts in this area"
Claude Greisler, Armin Strom:
A watchmaker is always driven by the fact to make a watch more precise. Make timekeeping better and more precise are always the main goals also if you think about other complications like the Tourbillon.
