At the beginning of this year, luxury watchmaker A. Lange & Söhne announced that it will release 10 special edition watches over the entire year to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Lange 1 timepiece. After revealing the Lange 1 ?25th Anniversary? prior to the SIHH 2019, and the Grand Lange 1 Moon Phase and the Little Lange 1 introduced over the last two months, the watchmaker has debuted the fourth in the series of commemorative watches. Called the A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar ?25th Anniversary?, it is the most complicated and exclusive model of the family and will be limited to only 25 examples. What A. Lange & Söhne basically has done is taken its most complicated Lange 1 model and given it the 25th-anniversary theme.
The limited edition commemorative timepiece is powered by the in-house L082.1 self-winding movement which is made of 624 parts. The tourbillion is hidden and can only be observed from the back. Although, it boasts of an ingenious perpetual calendar with big date and a peripheral months indicator, along with a tourbillon and automatic winding, all the instantly recognizable visual elements of the 1994 Lange 1 have been preserved, including its signature display with off-centered hours and minutes, odd placement of the small seconds and the emblematic outsize date.
