IWC has released a new interpretation of the Pilot?s Watch Mark 11: the Mark XVIII Edition ?Tribute to Mark XI?

Now there?s one more to add to the mix. IWC has released a limited edition 40mm reinterpretation of the Pilot?s Watch Mark XVIII, based on the original design of the Pilot?s Watch Mark 11 from 1948.
It?s called – deep breath – the Pilot?s Watch Mark XVIII Edition ?Tribute to Mark XI?, and features the classic Mark 11 dial: chunky white Arabic numerals against a matte black background, with luminescent rectangular markers at the quarter hours. The original IWC Pilot?s Watch Mark 11
The Pilot?s Watch Mark 11 has its roots as a Royal Air Force Bomber Squad watch. It was manufactured in Schaffhausen for the RAF and other Commonwealth armed forces, including those in Australia and New Zealand.
Production of the Pilot?s Watch Mark 11 began in 1948, but tailed off in the 1960s and 70s before ceasing altogether in the 1980s. Following the Mark 11?s success as a collector?s model, IWC reintroduced the ?Mark XII? in 1994.
