The world of mechanical watches offers plenty of material for fiction, a fact most recently demonstrated by a new special edition from Doxa. The Swiss company, most famous for its diver’s watches, is commemorating the internationally recognized author and maritime explorer Clive Cussler (1931 ? 2020). The acclaimed American adventure novelist wrote over 85 books, selling over 100 million copies, and discovered scores of shipwrecks through the non-profit agency he founded called, NUMA. Cussler?s books have been adapted to the big screen twice in Raise of the Titanic (1980) and Sahara (2005). 

His novels also helped to introduce Doxa to a broader audience. The brand’s famous orange dial, for instance, was monumental in coming to Cussler’s renowned fictional adventure hero, Dirk Pitt?s aid, enabling the adventurer to read the time accurately while diving on his deadline driven missions. Cussler himself was an enthusiastic Doxa fan and wearer of Doxa watches. Submerging in its history, the brand now introduces a decidedly cool look to its catalog. 
The SUB 300T Clive Cussler is typical Doxa at first sight but features a highly distinctive design, thanks to its sand-colored dial inspired by the look of a vintage compass.
