Announcing the Winner of the Inaugural WatchTime Wrist Shot Contest
After a long Labor Day weekend of deliberation over the 300+ entries we received for the inaugural WatchTime Wrist Shot Contest, we narrowed it down to five images from four WatchTime readers on the way to choosing a single winner.
All pictures were judged by our editorial team on three factors: composition, creativity, and image quality. Special attention was also paid to the setting, meaning if you took a picture of your field watch on a hike, you were more likely to make the cut.
Without further ado, here are the four runner-ups.
Jason Miller – Marathon Search & Rescue
We’ve always had a soft spot for Marathon Watches given their proud history on the wrists of American servicemen in Iraq and Afghanistan. This wrist shot, from reader Jason Miller, shows the watch in action. Carter Combs – Cartier Santos
Carter Combs aka @wristi is well known on Instagram for imaginative wrist shots and an overall great taste in watches. This picture of his Cartier Santos subverts the idea of a typical wrist shot and shows the flexibility of the Santos. Even in wrist absentia, the watch fits perfectly.
John Borra – Sinn 556A
As you’ve seen so far, we love when a watch fulfills its intended purpose, so nothing made us happier than when this mid-flight image of the no-nonsense Sinn 556A taken by reader John Borra landed in our inbox. Images like this make us fall in love with the legibility of pilots’ watches over and over again.
