Arnold & Son Brings the World to the Wrist Again with Globetrotter Gold
Swiss watchmaker Arnold & Son has become well known for its “three-dimensional” approach to timepieces. This week, the brand named for British watchmaking pioneer John Arnold once again channels that legacy, unveiling the latest and most precious addition to its well-regarded Globetrotter collection of eye-catching world-timers, the Globetrotter Gold.
The new model adopts the “globe on the wrist” design of the original 2018 Globetrotter, updating its distinctive style with the namesake gold case and an attractive blue dial. Its launch comes on the heels of several other releases by Arnold & Son in 2021, most notably the Luna Magna, which feature?s the world?s largest three-dimensional moon phase, and the pièce unique launched in June for HSNY?s charity auction.
In terms of design, the Globetrotter Gold is essentially the same watch as the original 2018 release, featuring a large, 45-mm polished case, in this model executed in 18k red gold. The case serves primarily as a frame for the impressive dial, and as such has a thin bezel, a tight, signed crown, and relatively simple lugs connecting the watch to a hand-stitched blue alligator leather strap secured by a matching gold buckle.
