Audemars Piguet debut 25th anniversary edition Royal Oak Offshore Tourbillon Chronographs
Audemars Piguet is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Royal Oak Offshore by issuing a re-edition inspired by the 1993 model. Part of the festivities are two all new limited series of the Royal Oak Offshore Tourbillon Chronograph: one in stainless steel and one in 18-carat pink gold.
The original Royal Oak Offshore was a little ahead of its time, however it?s large size and sporty design have a huge fan following now. With the redesigned movement Audemars Piguet aimed to capture the impact and avant-garde spirit of contemporary architecture.
The first of the two new limited editions features a 45mm 18 carat rose gold case, glareproofed sapphire crystal and caseback, pink gold bezel, black ceramic screw-locked crown and pushpieces, sandblasted pink gold pushpiece guards. It is water resistant to 100m and comes complete with a black rubber strap with 18-carat pink gold pin buckle. This watch is powered by the hand wound Calibre 2947 which boasts a 173 hour power reserve. The steel version has all the same specifications with the gold elements swapped out for steel ones. The pink gold edition is priced at 319,300 CHF (roughly $322,500) while the steel version will cost you 283,250 CHF (roughly $286,000). Both watches are created in limited editions of 50.
