Back to the Sea: Introducing the Tutima M2 Seven Seas Titanium
Germany’s Tutima has added a splash of summer color to its sportiest collection, while also upgrading its lightness-to-toughness ratio, with the recently released M2 Seven Seas Titanium. The new model offers two colorways sharing the same overall design, one predominantly yellow, the other in orange, both geared toward warm-weather wear.
Notably, the two watches represent the first updates to the Seven Seas collection since its introduction 2015, and arrive on the heels of a slew of aviation-style watches that Tutima has released this year, including the slate-gray-dial Flieger in the spring and the expansion of the Grand Flieger Airport series in January. With these pieces, the Glashütte-based brand gives some perhaps overdue attention to its signature dive-watch collection, the most significant new element being the case, here made of pearl-blasted titanium and offering an extreme water resistance of 500 meters.
The sturdy titanium case measures a hefty 44 mm in diameter, with hooded hugs, slim crown guards, and a tight-fitting screw-down crown. Poised at the top of the case and also made of solid titanium is a unidirectional ratcheting dive-scale bezel. whose curved indents and traditional teeth assist the wearer’s fingers in gaining traction. The watch is secured to the wrist on either a solid H-link titanium bracelet that evokes retro vibes or an innovative, Kevlar/rubber hybrid strap whose accents match the colors on the dial.
