Bigger and Blue: Nomos Introduces the Club Sport Neomatik 42
Way back in 2019, German watchmaker Nomos Glashütte made major waves with the unveiling of the Club Sport. Launched alongside a duo of Tangente Sport models, the model took familiar Club collection elements ? an overall youthful design, a no-nonsense silhouette, and a highly legible dial ? and boosted the sporty look with a newly upgraded 300-meter water resistant case with a slightly bulkier construction. The result was a fresh take on a classic Nomos watch that allowed even more versatile wearing situations, equipped for everyday as well as adventure.
Since its initial launch, the Club Sport has been available only with a black dial (below), but this year Nomos returned to the fan-favorite series to introduce the new Club Sport Neomatik 42, which adds to the collection its first blue dial.
Like its black-dialed predecessor, the new watch’s case is constructed from stainless steel and measures 42 mm across, as reflected in the model’s name. Its familiar stylized elements include a prominent signed crown, a rounded bezel with a polished finish, and an angular lug design that?s distinct from the better known, straight-lug style that Nomos uses in its many Bauhaus-inspired watches. In most regards, the 10.2-mm-thick watch is very similar in style to previous Club watches, but the larger diameter and 300-meter water resistance of the case ? compared to the thinner and smaller cases in the collection that offer only 100m of water resistance ? make it ...
