Bovet has created a bespoke pair of exquisite watches that transform into dashboard clocks for the $28 million Rolls-Royce Boat Tail
A couple of days back, Rolls-Royce revealed the ultra-opulent, one-of-a-kind convertible called the Boat Tail. Commissioned by an anonymous couple from the United States, the Boat Tail is the first bespoke creation to come from the British luxury automaker?s new Coachbuild division. One of the highlights of the $28 million Rolls-Royce is the pair of unique timepieces created by famed Swiss watchmaker Bovet 1822 exclusively for the Boat Tail. The boutique Haute Horlogerie brand has finally released more information on the two bespoke reversible ?His & Hers? two-sided timepieces, each designed to be worn on the wrist, used as a table clock, pendant, or pocket timepiece, or placed within the fascia as Boat Tail?s dashboard clock.
Both timepieces use the same 44mm 18k white gold case featuring a cylindrical shape and asymmetrical T-bar-style lugs and a cabochon crown at 12 o?clock. The case gets Bovet?s proprietary Amadéo System that debuted with the stunning Amadeo Convertible Case concept back in 2010. The complicated system lets the timepiece convert to a wristwatch, a table clock, a pocket watch, and a pendant watch. However, for the latest execution, Bovet pushed the limits of horological engineering by creating an intricate mechanism that enables both watches to be slotted into the dashboard of the Boat Tail and be used as the car clock.
