As the 2017 Couture watch and jewelry fair kicked off in Las Vegas, one of the exhibiting luxury watch brands, Tudor, made a blockbuster announcement ? naming international soccer star, philanthropist, and style tastemaker David Beckham as its new celebrity spokesperson (aka “brand ambassador”) and the face of its “Born to Dare” ad campaign that launched back in March at Baselworld.

Beckham, who had in prior years been a celebrity endorser for Breitling, is a well-known and longtime aficionado of timepieces. ?Especially as an Englishman I think you really appreciate a nice suit and a nice watch,” the now-retired sporting icon says. “They go very well together.? He discovered Tudor watches through the brand’s “big brother,” Rolex, of which Beckham has several models in his collection. ?I was attracted to Tudor by the attention to detail I could see in their watches,” he reveals. “I then learned about the history of the brand. One of adventure, pioneer diving and daring expeditions.
