If you read Ed Jelley?s post from last month about three extremely affordable Casio watches and thought to yourself, ?Hey, I need more affordable Casios in my life!? then today?s drop from the Japanese brand will surely be of interest. While not quite as inexpensive as the watches Ed profiled, this new entry in their Vintage line has a similar retro charm, and capitalizes on an emerging trend in contemporary watches: the rainbow colorway. 
The A1000RBW-1A has the squared off case shape and thin profile many of us of a certain age still associate with Casio. Before G-Shock became the unrelenting cult phenomenon that it is today, Casio was known for simple, inexpensive digital watches that quite simply just got the job done, and that?s the basis for the watch seen here. The A1000RBW-1A is a full featured multi-function quartz watch with a calendar and stopwatch, as well as an integrated LED illuminator light, activated by a button on the case band. 
Where the watch sets itself apart a bit, of course, is the colorway. The metal case is ion plated in a rainbow pattern that extends to the mesh bracelet. Casio also tells us that the dial is mother of pearl, but it?s a little hard to determine how they?ve pulled this off in the photos. We?re curious to see it in the metal to get a better look.
