Chopard – Superfast Power Control Porsche 919 HF Edition
Showing the support for Porsche Motorsport in its 24 Hours of Le Mans 2017, Chopard launches the Superfast Power Control Porsche 919 HF edition.
The thing I would like to start with is that I have never been a huge enthusiast of this collection. It simply didn’t seem to be my cup of tea – chunky and massive racing watch. I just literally thought, nothing can make me like the Superfast collection. However, somewhere in time 2015, new watch appeared – it was Superfast Chrono Porsche 919 Jacky Ickx edition with blue details (Hands-on review). Since that time, I started admiring some of the watches from this collection.
This year’s model has been presented with the power reserve indicator and date display, besides the central time hands. I really like its sturdy and extremely lightweight 45mm titanium case, reinforced by a black DLC treatment and secured by 8 PVD-coated steel screws. Despite, having mean and stealthy appearance, the watch itself is incredibly legible due to over-sized arabic numerals and hour markers.
The Porsche 919 is powered by a 2-litre, 400hp V4 turbo engine, coupled with a 500hp electric engine. Chopard calibre 01.11-M is also a hybrid. It was entirely developed, produced and assembled within the workshops of Fleurier Ebauches and represents a watershed between two generations of materials.
