Baselworld is just days away. Here now let’s have a look at one of Chopard’s new pieces for 2018, a new interpretation of its classy L.U.C Quattro in a limited editon run of 50 pieces. Its got a great look to it, with vertical satin-brushed silver dial contrasting with blued hands and a rose gold case (43mm). Sub-dials include a power-reserve display at 12 o?clock (nine days) and a combo date + small seconds at 6 o?clock. The blue dauphine hour appliques are balanced with a large Arabic 3 and 9.
Chopard L.U.C Quattro
Limited edition 50 pieces, $24,400 per 43mm rose gold case, manual wind caliber
As to the name of this watch. The L.U.C “Quattro” has been around many years now and is a nod to the four-barrels powering the watch (back then, then L.U.C 1.98, for one example) and which concept remains the same today. Visible through the caseback is the hand-wound, COSC-certified LU.C Calibre 98.01-L.
28,800 vph 4 Hz, 9 days power reserve (four barrels i.e. “Quattro”)
