In the ever expanding universe of fake holidays, there?s absolutely no question that Star Wars Day is my own personal favorite. It just barely edges out Pi Day, and absolutely destroys ?National Eat Your Beans Day? and Black Friday (blame that one on the retail jobs I worked in my youth). May the 4th (if you don?t get the pun, please watch Episode IV immediately) is a day to celebrate what for many is the singular film franchise of their moviegoing lives. A franchise which now, however improbable it might seem if you grew up in the 80s or 90s, has expanded to television in a significant and exciting way, and holds a ton of promise for future movies for years to come.
