Citizen Dials In Their Dial Game With New The Citizen Watches
Citizen continues to impress with their latest trio of The Citizen watches set to release this year. They?ve clearly found their footing in designing a complete package that showcases the tech in their movements, from Eco-Drive to mechanical, as well as their increasingly impressive dial game. All that doesn?t mean much of the watches don?t look good, and friends, these watches look damn good. The comparisons to what Grand Seiko is doing will be clear, but Citizen is taking their own route in a manner that deserves attention.Â
The collection begins with the time and date reference AQ4091-56M, a catchy name, I know. But the watch gets the Citizen Eco-Drive caliber A060 with accuracy of +/- 5 seconds per year within a 40mm super titanium case. If that?s not accurate enough for you, the limited edition time-only reference ??AQ6110-10L features the brand?s most accurate Eco-Drive movement, the 0100 that?s accurate to within +/- 1 second per year. The latter is set within a more formal 37.5mm case, also super titanium, that measures a mere 9mm in total thickness.
Each of these models receives a stunning hand-dyed Japanese washi paper dials that result in a smokey, silvery blue color with an ethereal texture. There are no Arabic numerals to be found on these dials, leaving the color and texture uninhibited, save for the framed date window on the AQ4091-56M. At 6 o?clock you?ll find the applied Eagle marks exclusive to The Citizen models, adding a bit of dramatic flair...
