Famed Japanese designer Hiroshi Fujiwara, the man behind fragment design, has teamed up with Tag Heuer for a limited edition reissue Carrera inspired by one of the most desired vintage references Heuer has ever made. Unveiled through Fujiwara?s Instagram page, the fragment design x Tag Heuer Carrera is a killer neo-vintage throwback that pulls from the super rare Carrera Ref. 2447 NT.
As far as looks go, the watch is a near one-for-one revival, with a black-on-black dial framed by a thin white ring. The few aesthetic differences are slight. Most notable are the missing applied markers, which I assume were removed to make room for the fragment design branding. Speaking of branding, the cobranding effort here is limited to a small fragment design logo at 12 and ?FRAGMENT? at around five, which keeps things understated. Parchment-toned luminous paint is used, but the effect is subtle since lume doesn?t take up too much real estate here.  According to Jeff Stein of Onthedash, The case measures 39 millimeters across, and the watch is powered by the Heuer 02 movement. The case is sandwiched between two sapphire crystals, so you?ll be able to get a good view of the movement through the back. 
Further details like pricing are still unavailable, but the watch is dropping soon and it?s expected to be a limited release.
