At the SIHH 2019 expo last year, watchmaker Girard-Perregaux refreshed its classic and sporty Laureato line by introducing the new Laureato ?Absolute? collection. At the end of 2019, the watch brand debuted the limited edition Laureato Absolute Rock ? the first production model to feature the revolutionary Carbon Glass material. And now for 2020, Girard-Perregaux has another stunning creation to the collection which is themed around transparency. Called the Laureato Absolute Light, the latest timepiece follows the brand?s moto to make unconventional watches. The Laureato Absolute Light features a 44mm case with a thickness of 11.5mm which is made using a combination of sapphire and titanium. The transparency achieved from various angles by using sapphire for the case gives the watch an extremely appealing aesthetic. In addition to that, the materials also make the watch much lighter and thus offering great wrist comfort.
The transparency of the case is also continued to the open dial of the watch which offers an unobstructed view of the skeletonized GP01800 movement. The movement operates at a frequency of 4Hz and offers a power reserve of 54 hours. The anthracite NAC-treated bridges and mainplate feature no less than four different finishes. The black NAC-treated outer flange has 12 curved sections between mirror-polished triangles to act as hour-markers.
