Combining yesteryear’s bold retro looks with modern high-end watchmaking features, Glashütte Original’s Vintage Collection fully lives up to its name. While the Sixties display an understated design language, the Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date is presented in an eye-catching square and streamlined steel case with a diameter of 40mm x 40mm reflecting the daring looks of the eponymous decade. The latest additions, of which each is limited to 100 pieces, once again play on color. They feature matte lacquered dials with two cool hues called “Golden Bay” and “Ocean Breeze.” 

?Golden Bay? is a warm ochre tone evocative of far-flung beaches and sunny lagoons, while the light grey-blue ?Ocean Breeze? conjures fresh, clear water and waves. The dark shade of the two sub-dials, in stark contrast to the colored background, is complemented by the black hands and display of the digital 12-hour counter that is a hallmark of this flyback chronograph.
The same rings true for the manufacture’s genuine large date called “Panorama Date,” which has distinguished Glashütte Original’s timepieces for 25 years. Also aboard is a power reserve indicator which is a part of the small seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock.
