Glashütte Original Senator Chronograph Capital Edition Debuts at Berlinale
As it has since 2011, Germany’s Glashütte Original served as a partner to this year’s 68th Berlin International Film Festival, or Berlinale. In 2015, the luxury watchmaker used the Berlinale as the stage to launch five short films about the brand, its history, and its impact. During this year’s festival, taking place from February 15 to 25, it launched a new, limited-edition timepiece. Here’s what you need to know about the Senator Chronograph – The Capital Edition.
The Senator Chronograph – The Capital Edition is available in stainless steel (above), rose gold, and platinum.
The watch is offered as three limited editions, each with a different case material, and brings two new dial colors to the Senator Chronograph collection, which debuted at Baselworld 2017: smoky “Bourbon Grey” on the stainless steel and rose-gold models (limited to 100 and 25 pieces, respectively); and sleek “Dry Silver” on the platinum models (limited to just five pieces). The blue subdial rings create contrast with the “Bourbon Grey” dial.
The watch?s dials, all created in-house, feature striking details in beige, white, and blue, and its hands, applied indices, and applied Roman numerals at 6 and 12 o?clock ? all made of white gold ? are treated with a green-tinted Super-LumiNova for optimum legibility in the dark.
