GPHG 2023: The Shortlisted Watches
This summer, the 850 members of the GPHG Academy have nominated 90 entries for the shortlist of the 2023 edition. These 84 watches and 6 clocks are now in the running to win one of the 20 prizes at this year’s edition of the GPHG, including the prestigious ?Aiguille d’Or? Grand Prix best-in-show award (follow this link for the full list). The brands with the most nominations are:
Piaget (5), Audemars Piguet (5), Van Cleef & Arpels (4), Chopard (4), Parmigiani (4), IWC (3), Bovet (3), TAG Heuer (3), Bulgari (3).
The 41-mm Alpine Eagle Cadence 8F from Chopard (ref. 298600-3020) houses one of the most advanced movements from Chopard?s workshops: the chronometer-certified Chopard Calibre 01.12-C featuring a high-frequency escapement beating at 57,600 vibrations per hour (8 Hz). The titanium watch is one of 84 pieces shortlisted this year (in this case the new “Sports” category).
A Global Tour
Organized in collaboration with local partners, the 84 watches shortlisted this year will be exhibited in Macao from September 25 to 26; then in Hong Kong from September 28 to October 1st as part of the new Timeless Watch Week; in Kuala Lumpur from October 4 to 8 in partnership with The Hour Glass; in New York from October 18 to 22 with Watches of Switzerland; and then in Geneva from October 25 to November 12 at the Musée Rath, in partnership with the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire (MAH).
