Greubel Forsey Simplifies Its Original Design With The New Balancier S²
Greubel Forsey has introduced the new Balancier S², an evolution of the innovative design code the brand brought to the market with the Balancier S just over a year ago. Greubel Forsey took a comparatively simpler take on the original design by replacing a text-filled bezel with a simple mirror-polished one; by toning down on the red elements incorporated into the dial design of the original S; and by minimizing the size of the texts inscribed on the barrel.
Boasting the elliptical and multi-dimensional code of the original overall design, the watch features a curved bezel and sapphire crystal that uniformly follows the circular lines of the case, and the same familiar, partially tilted dial with an elegant black finish at the top and a grey frosted finish at the bottom.
The Balancier S² features a set of openworked titanium bridges that follow the gear train and hold the balance wheel, whose reflection can be seen mirrored on the wall of the dial at 6?o clock. The red power reserve indicator and the lacquered, handcrafted hour markers add an additional sense of three-dimensional depth to the overall design, while the seconds indicator at 7?o clock allows the watch’s owner to precisely set the time of the watch to his preference.
