H. Moser & Cie. Builds Out the Streamliner Collection with New Centre Seconds in Matrix Green
H. Moser & Cie. upended expectations last year with its release of the original Streamliner, the watch industry’s first self-winding flyback chronograph with a minimalist central display. This year, the brand expands the Streamliner family, named for the aerodynamically curved high-speed trains of the early 20th century, with a simpler time-only model that also ushers in an all-new dial color. Here’s the scoop on the Streamliner Centre Seconds, which makes its debut at this week’s Geneva Watch Days exhibition.
Like its chronograph predecessor, the watch has a cushion-shaped case made of stainless steel that is smoothly integrated, sans lugs, into a fluidly curving, articulated bracelet in the same material. Measuring 40 mm in diameter and water-resistant to 120 meters, the ergonomically sculpted case features alternating brushed and polished surfaces, and includes a slightly domed sapphire crystal to protect the dial. The dial itself is executed in Moser’s signature fumé, or gradient, style, here in a new color called Matrix Green, which offers a palette of shades ranging from olive green to rose gold depending on the lighting. The two-section hands have inserts made of Globolight, a ceramic-based luminous material.
Inside the Streamliner’s case, beating behind a clear sapphire caseback, is Moser’s self-winding HMC 200 movement, equipped with a solid gold oscillating weight and amassing a power reserve of three days. (U...
