H. Moser & Cie is back on tongue-in-cheek form with the new Swiss Alp Watch Zzzz
Last year?s Swiss Alp Watch S from H. Moser & Cie was a light-hearted poke at the Apple watch that belied the watchmaking finesse at its heart. Now the Swiss Alp Watch is back, and this time it?s on standby mode.
At first glance, the inky ?screen? beneath the rounded sapphire crystal appears to be switched off.
However as with the Swiss Alp Watch S, the Swiss Alp Watch Zzzz is entirely mechanical – no electronics involved.
To give the full ?standby mode? appearance, the dial has been stripped of any indices, sub-dials or markings whatsoever, apart from two leaf-shaped hands in white gold. A little ?M? for Moser has also sneaked onto the crown.
Catching some Z?s: The Swiss Alp Watch Zzzz
Inside the 44mm-t rectangular case – with the rather familiar rounded corners – is the hand-wound HMC 324 Manufacture calibre.
It has a 4-day power reserve, meaning that it?s ?fully rechargeable by hand?, as H. Moser has put it. To prove beyond any doubt that this anti-smartwatch is the real deal, it?s visible through the sapphire case back.
The HMC 324 is the same movement as the one in the Swiss Alp Watch S, as well as H. Moser?s Henry models.
