Hermés celebrates 40 years of Arceau watch range in a simply stylish manner
Hermés is galloping into a celebratory stance with their 40th year anniversary of the brand?s renowned Arceau range of watches. The Hermés Arceau 78 line pays tribute to legendary watchmaking. Created in 1978 by Hermés design maestro Henri d?Origny, used the inspiring combination of asymmetrical lugs (like stirrups on a steed) and Arabic slanting figures.
The new model is a simple yet striking reminder of its 78 version, which comes in a 40mm mirror-polished steel case. The most unique feature is the dial, which is also steel but comes with a grainy, matte effect thanks to some fine bead blasting. The round face comes in an anthracite shade accentuated with the blackened gold numerals ? which in turn, is superluminova, making the numbers shine in the dark. The slanting posture gives it the impression of a galloping horse. The strap is made of natural Barenia calf leather and has a Swiss quartz movement. This ?very large model,? as claimed by Hermés, will be available from April of this year, retailing at a cost of $3,200.
