Introducing Four All New Super Sea Wolf Limited Editions from Zodiac Featuring Upgraded Materials and Finishing
It?s not exactly breaking news that we?re pretty big fans of the Zodiac Super Sea Wolf around here. In addition to our own limited edition, Zodiac has produced a number of great variants built on the Super Sea Wolf platform in a range of colors and styles – truly something for every taste. This week, a total of four new watches join the Super Sea Wolf family (temporarily, you could say, as they?re all limited editions of 500 pieces each), and they have traits that are both decidedly more traditional than many of the avant-garde, colorful versions they?ve produced recently, with one in particular leaving a more tactical, stealthy impression.Â
We?ll start with the old school. References ZO9213 and ZO9212 are modeled after the type of skin divers that you?d be likely to find in dive shops in the 1960s, the heyday of recreational diving. These types of dive watches tend to be smaller, lighter in weight, easier to wear, and not designed for the deepest professional use. These days, skin diver designs tend to be identifiable based on a longer than average lug profile along with classic dial layouts that tend to have a bit of funk to them, and these Zodiacs certainly meet that criteria. Each feature large triangular, shark tooth hour markers at the cardinal positions (and smaller hour indicators of a similar shape everywhere else), sharp dauphine style hands, and a compact 39mm case with those trademark lugs.
