Introducing: Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5968A – the First Aquanaut Chronograph
Yea the new Nautilus with perpetual calendar is interesting, but I think this is more interesting and attractive: the very first chronograph in the Patek Philippe Aquanaut collection, with a dose of orange to top it off. The overall looks is great for the sporty Aquanaut collection and this is a welcome addition. The watch is cased in steel, inside being the automatic mechanical Patek caliber CH 28-520 C. Not a new caliber, the 28-520 C is present in numerous Nautilus chronographs. It is a flyback chronograph movement with classic column wheel and vertical disk clutch that prevents a rebound of the hand in either direction when the chronograph is started. Because this clutch is virtually friction-free, the chronograph hand can also be used as a continuously running seconds hand. The watch has a black embossed dial with gold applied numerals that are luminescent, and is offered in both orange and black rubber composite straps. As I say a very nice look for the Aquanaut, although the price tag is a rather hefty $43,770. Patek Philippe Aquanaut Chronograph 5968A
