The founder of Collins Watch, Jimmy Collins, is a self-proclaimed ?watch guy through and through.? He also has a background in music recording, a passion that lent inspiration to the design of his first watch, the Bronson. Boasting a familiar pilot?s watch aesthetic, the Bronson is a no-nonsense, grab-and-go piece. It?s not breaking the mold, but there?s no pretense that it is. At a starting price of $245, it doesn?t break the bank, either. And on top of that, each watch will be tested, adjusted, and assembled in the United States.
The case (available in either a matte blasted finish of black PVD) measures 40mm with a height of 12mm and a lug-to-lug measurement of 48mm. Overall, it?s a comfortable size for a number of different wrists sizes. Further case specs include a sapphire crystal and 100-meters of water resistance. The Bronson dial is clear, legible, and to the point. Collins snuck in some elements from his recording background into the design. Other than the ?volume knob? crown as mentioned above, the slashed ?0? at ten mimics the phase button on a recording console.
