Introducing the Gear Patrol x Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba Auto Special Edition
In 2017, Hamilton expanded its catalog with the Khaki Navy Scuba Auto collection, a small series of 40-millimeter, diver-inspired watches pulling aesthetically from Hamilton’s Khaki collection. For 2018, Hamilton has teamed up with men?s lifestyle website Gear Patrol on a special edition Khaki Navy Scuba Auto, and it?s now available exclusively from the Gear Patrol store.
Let?s run down the specs. The 40-millimeter stainless steel case features 20-millimeter lugs, a unidirectional ratcheting diver?s bezel, a screw down crown, and it?s rated to 10 bar. The case design is relatively straightforward, with long lugs and prominent crown guards flanking a signed crown at three. There?s a fine brushed finish throughout.
The dial then mixes classic field and dive watch cues, adding a 24-hour track alongside the prominent diver?s index. The hands are bold, tapering swords, lumed to match the indices, and Gear Patrol?s finishing touch here is an orange second hand. There?s a date window at four-thirty, and dial text is kept to a minimum here, with branding below 12 and the model designation above six.
Powering the watch is Hamilton’s H-10 movement, a caliber based on the ETA 2824, but it’s been reworked to feature 80 hours of power reserve.
The complete package here includes a black nylon mil-strap with brushed hardware and an orange interior, and a matching stainless steel bracelet. Also included is a presentation box and spring bar tool.
