Introducing the Hach V, the New Watch from London’s Objest
Objest, the London based watch brand and design house, has a new watch in the works to be funded through a Kickstarter campaign beginning next month. Like a lot of brands these days, Objest has an eye on the environment and the public good, but what differentiates Objest from their many of their peers is a focus specifically on animal rights. Their new watch, the Hach V, is vegan and PETA approved, and Objest will be donating a portion of the proceeds from sales of the Hach V to The World Land Trust, FRIEND and The Farm Animal Sanctuary. Let?s take a look at the new Hach V.Â
The Hach V has a decidedly minimalist aesthetic, and the dial is marked by a series of parallel lines that run diagonally across it, meeting perfectly uniform  hash marks around the minute track. Circular hour markers at the cardinal positions are applied and polished, with printed dots marking the minutes around the dial. The hour and minute hands are simple batons and have been given a matte finish, while the seconds hand is a thin stick with a noticeably pointed counterweight. White and black dial variants will be available.Â
The 42mm case in a matte black DLC coating has a 42mm diameter that is likely to wear smaller than its stated size given the lugless design. The Hach V shares the same pebble-like case qualities as previous Objest designs, and to me recalls some of the then future-focused case designs of the late 1960s and 70s. Today the case still has some of that futurist...
