Introducing the King of the “Monsters,” the Seiko USA Exclusive Ref. SRPD29
The ?Monster? is undoubtedly one of Seiko?s most polarizing divers. Some swear by it, and others think the watch is true to its nickname in the worst ways possible. I?m personally a fan, in that I think it?s ugly enough that it actually looks quite awesome.
The Monster?s been through a number of aesthetic and technical overhauls in the years since it first appeared, and some have been better than others. The current Monster, which most categorize as the third generation in the series, is arguably the best looking one (at least it is to me). Most notably, gone are the shark-tooth markers of the previous model, replaced here with bold, blocky ones that are a better fit to the overall design.Â
For the summer, Seiko?s added another member to the Monster family, and this one is a Seiko USA exclusive ? introducing the Seiko Prospex Ref. SRPD29.Â

The semi-shrouded case measures 42.4mm across and features a black ion-plated finish that ups the aggressive factor on an already aggro design.
