Introducing the Limited Edition Laco Munchen Chrono
Laco has been refining their German pilot watch aesthetic for 80 years now, and it?s safe to say they?ve landed on a look that works. It may not be entirely unique to them, but more than any other brand producing German pilot watches, Laco has stuck to the original formula. The triangle marker at 12, the onion crown, and the oversized Arabic numerals placed around the dial are all hallmarks we?ve come to expect from the brand, even with complications thrown into the mix, that soul isn?t lost. This is particularly true with their latest limited edition, the Mu?nchen Chrono.
One complaint typically levied at chronographs is that, with the addition of so many sub dials and hands, the core practicality of telling the time is compromised. If you fall into that camp, you?ll appreciate the subtle application of the sub dials found on the Mu?nchen Chrono, which read as secondary tools to the running time indication. They?ve done this by printing the information within the dials in grey, with matching grey hands. Likewise, the day and date discs have been printed in grey, placed under the also-grey Laco branding. This effectively makes the watch appear as a time only three-hander at a glance, retaining a clear focus on practical legibility.
