We previously covered the introduction of the Oris Clean Ocean and the Oris Great Barrier Reef limited editions when they were introduced at the Baselworld fair earlier this year. Now Oris has returned with a third watch to round out the trilogy: the Oris Blue Whale Limited Edition. It?s the first Aquis chronograph with a 3, 6, 9 dial layout, and features the same stunning blue dial color as its previously introduced limited edition siblings. It?s also strictly limited to 200 pieces, and is only available in a box set with the Clean Ocean and Great Barrier Reef editions. Like the other two watches in the trilogy, the Blue Whale zeros in on a specific environmental concern related to the world?s oceans. As the name of the watch implies, this chronograph is meant to call attention to the endangered blue whale, earth?s largest, longest, loudest, and heaviest mammal. Oris points out that while blue whales are no longer under threat due to commercial whaling, the general pollution and environmental threats to their habitat still put them at serious risk.
