Sinn announced this year?s first batch of novelties in a multimedia presentation this morning, and the early standout is a limited edition chronograph that pays tribute to the brand?s 60th anniversary, which they celebrate this year. The 144 St S Anniversary II is a new and updated spin on a classic Sinn reference with styling cues that are historic to the brand and much of the forward looking tech that Sinn is known for.

The foundation of this watch is the Sinn 144, which first appeared in the Sinn catalog in 1974, and over time has developed into a signature watch for the German house. It?s a three register chronograph with a combined tachymeter/pulsometer scale, a sporty cushion case measuring 41mm, and a bracelet looks and feels integrated, but is mounted to lugs hidden beneath the case (this case has always looked great on straps as well as the steel bracelet).
The new edition seen here is made from stainless steel that has been bead-blasted and given a black TEGIMENT coating. It also includes Sinn?s Ar-Dehumidifying Technology, which is designed to prevent the crystal from fogging. This is a true sports watch and rated to 200 meters of water resistance, and is also low pressure resistant. Sinn is at their best when creating functional, no nonsense tools, the specs of the 144 St S Anniversary II chronograph certainly fit the bill. The black coating gives the watch a sleek look and makes the red accents on the dial really pop.
