Introducing: Ulysse Nardin Diver Le Locle
While Ulysse Nardin is certainly well known for its nautically-inspired and marine-themed watches, I’d venture a guess that most would probably associate its watches for use “above the water” rather than below. Yes, they also make dive watches, but as you can see this new piece is a significant departure from current designs. All of which makes this new Ulysse Nardin dive watch — inspired by a 1964 model from the house collection — a welcome addition to the manufacture’s lineup. Although the 1964 original was in a 38mm case vs the present at 42mm, the new Diver Le Locle is true to its roots and a diving watch to its core, as the legible SuperLuminova indexes, unidirectional bezel, 100m water-resistance and the durable sailcloth strap attest to. And while this great looking dive watch from Ulysse Nardin might look like the vintage original on the outside, its caliber construction is anything but vintage. The automatic mechanical UN-320 manufacture movement uses silicium hairspring and escapement, a material for which Ulysse Nardin has been and remains on the cutting edge of. Let’s take a closer look at the excellent new Diver Le Locle!
