The crime drama film Scarface, starring Al Pacino, that premiered back in 1983 often ranks high in the list of ?must watch Hollywood movies?. Over the last three decades, the movie, which is based on a 1932 story and directed by Brian De Palma, has attained the status of a cult classic and has a passionate fan base; one name in its followership seems to be that of Swiss watch brand Jacob & Co. The watchmaker collaborated with Universal Pictures to obtain the rights for Scarface to create a very special tribute timepiece for the movie. Joining the brand?s famed Opera collection, the new Opera Scarface musical watch is covered by special features that are inspired by Tony Montana ? the protagonist of the movie.

The highlight of the Opera Scarface watch is the integrated 120-note music box that plays the ?Bolivia? theme from the 1983 classic on pressing the pusher at 10 o?clock; along with it, the complex dial also rotates 120 degrees in 30 seconds. Under the two music box cylinders with spindles is the triple-axis tourbillon at 6 o?clock that rotates in 24 seconds on one axis, eight seconds on the second, and 72 seconds on the third. On the right side of the tourbillon is a striking bright red Scarface nameplate with a silhouette of Tony Montana. At the center of the dial a tiny red globe, with the words ?The World is Yours? ? similar to the one found in the entrance hall of Tony Montana?s Miami mansion.
