Jaeger-LeCoultre & Mr. Porter Welcome “The King’s Man” Film with Master Ultra Thin Kingsman Knife Limited Edition
Jaeger-LeCoultre has partnered with online retailer Mr. Porter to produce a limited-edition Master Ultra Thin Kingsman Knife watch to tie in with the launch of the latest film in the Matthew Vaughn-directed spy comedy series The King?s Man. The watch takes its inspiration from a “couteau” pocketwatch Jaeger-LeCoultre made in 1907. The Master Ultra-Thin Kingsman Knife watch (above) is based on a vintage Jaeger-LeCoultre pocketwatch (below).
The watch has a rose-gold 40-mm-wide case that is 4.25-mm thick. The broad bezel that frames the dial slopes gently towards the edge of the case to create a profile reminiscent of a knife blade. The winding crown is protected by its triangular bow and is placed at 12 o?clock (unlike the 3 o? clock position of the crown on “regular” watches). The ivory-hued dial has simple index hour markers and a railroad minute marker on the fringe of its dial. The time is indicated by slender, tempered, blue steel hands, as a hat tip to its association with the film. The caseback is engraved with the Kingsman logo, as well as the number of models produced (?One of 100?), which is also presented in a specially-designed Kingsman sleevebox.
