SIHH 2019 is barely a month away and a majority of the participating luxury watchmakers have begun giving us a taste of what to expect from the watch expo. Latest Pre-SIHH 2019 timepiece to be revealed is the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra-Thin Moon Enamel ? a fantastic new version of one of JLC?s classics. The new model highlights the arts of guilloche and enamelling, two of the rare and subtle watchmaking handcrafts that have been kept alive for generations by JLC in the Vallée de Joux. The beautiful combination of ultra-thin case and an enamel dial makes for a fine dress watch. The dial of the watch features a hand-guillochéd sunray pattern with straight lines that originate from the centre of the dial. Finished in blue, the translucent enamel layer on the dial glistens and gives a sense of depth the watch helped by the engraved motif.
The movement powering the new Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra-Thin Moon Enamel is an upgraded version of the Caliber 925, previously seen in the Master Ultra Thin Moon Phase. But what?s interesting is that the power reserve of the calibre has been increased from 40 hours to 70. The hours, minutes and seconds are indicated on the central axle by the movement, while the date and the moon phases appear on the sub-dial at 6 o?clock. The caseback gives a view of the thin and elegant movement finished with Geneva stripes, perlage and blued screws. The watch is paired with a black alligator leather strap.
