Jaeger-LeCoultre Toasts 90 Years of Reverso with Burgundy Red Tribute Duoface Fagliano Edition
In 2021, Jaeger-LeCoultre’s iconic, Art Deco-inspired Reverso marks 90 years since its introduction in 1931. Ahead of that anniversary, the manufacture has unveiled a special edition of its Reverso Tribute Duoface model with a dial in rich, burgundy red, a swiveling case in 18k rose gold, and a burgundy leather strap from the boot-making artisans at Casa Fagliano.

The Reverso Tribute Duoface Fagliano Limited continues the tradition of the Reverso, one of the world’s most recognizable timepieces, developed for the “sporting gentlemen” of the 1930s, particularly polo players. The clean Art Deco lines and reversible rectangular case ? originally designed so the watch’s front side could be flipped over to protect the crystal from being shattered by an errant polo ball ? have endured into the modern era, in which the Reverso has grown from its original model into an entire collection, incorporating numerous materials, colors, and complications. This watch’s direct ancestor, the first Reverso Duoface, debuted in 1994, introducing the dual dials, one on each side, each depicting a different time zone. The gold case of the new model measures 47 mm x 28.3 mm in diameter and 10.3 mm thick. Its main (front) dial has a lacquered burgundy finish and displays the time on faceted, golden Dauphine hands in the style of the watch’s historical ancestor, which point to golden bar indices, ...
