Longines Heritage Legend Diver Surfaces in New Bronze Case
The watch world’s new Bronze Age marches on, with yet another divers’ watch emerging in a new case made of bronze, a metal historically used in maritime equipment due to its anti-corrosive properties. The latest timepiece outfitted in the material is a retro-look timepiece from Longines’ Heritage collection, the Legend Diver, which pairs up the bronze case with a sea-green lacquered dial.

The Longines Legend Diver, which joined the collection in 2007, is a modern re-issue of a divers? watch Longines produced in 1960, Its 42-mm stainless steel case replicates the lines of the original and is notable for its two crowns ? one for winding the watch, the other for operating the internal rotating divers? bezel. Both these crowns, as well as the caseback, are screwed, helping to ensure a water resistance level of 300 meters. The inner rotating bezel, which serves as the flange of the watch, can also be locked in place by its dedicated crown, thus ensuring that a diver wearing it knows exactly how long he has been underwater.
The design harks back to a 1960s Longines dive watch.
