It was back in January last year when MB&F introduced the Horological Machine No. 7 (HM7) ‘Aquapod’ at the SIHH 2017 ? the watchmaker?s first aquatic-themed watch inspired by the jellyfish. The dive watch was launched in two versions: one with a red gold case and black ceramic bezel and another with a titanium case and a blue ceramic bezel. For this year, MB&F has released another limited edition version of the HM7 Aquapod timepiece in grade 5 titanium and with a bright green ceramic bezel. One of the highlights of the watch is its unidirectional bezel construction, which isn?t attached to the watch itself at all, and instead, it floats freely above the dial. However, thanks to its twin crowns, the watch has a water resistance of only 50m making it not a proper dive-watch.
The overall design of the watch remains the same, and the annular design of the dial inspired by the jellyfish is unchanged. The HM7 Aquapod Titanium Green measures a whopping 53.8mm wide and 21.3mm thick, making it quite a big timepiece. The biggest change comes in the form of the striking green ceramic bezel. A matching shade of green has also been used on the indicator on the heavily domed sapphire crystal, which is used to tell time. Developed entirely in-house, the movement of the HM7 features a winding rotor, mainspring barrel, hour and minute indicators, and flying tourbillon.
