MeisterSinger Revels in The Now With New Urban Day Date ?Edition Today? Limited Edition
Watches from Germany’s MeisterSinger are well known for their unorthodox manner of keeping time, and this fall the brand strives to change our view of time once more with its Urban Day Date ?Edition Today? limited-edition watch. The new model brings updates the Urban collection’s “metropolitan” case design with a new dial format, which centers upon a newly introduced day window, which displays the word ?today? in seven different languages. While this might seem like a radical change in how we keep time, it’s very “Meistersinger,” which is known for eschewing tradition by centering its brand identity around the lack of independent seconds and minute hands on dials in favor of a single, 12-hour counter.
The new model’s 40-mm polished steel case has sharp, angular lugs, a simple signed crown, and a slim rounded bezel securing the sapphire crystal. Water-resistant to 50 meters, the case is secured to the wrist with a brown, vintage-inspired leather strap accented with hand-sewn seams and attached via a steel buckle.
On the dial, a matte black background plays host to the unusual configuration. On the outer edges are a combined minute and hour ring, accented at each hour with bold Arabic numerals in white. Deeper in on the face are more lines indicating the hour positions, while a grass-green day disk resides towards the 12 o?clock position.
