Montblanc debuts two new watches at the Goodwood Festival of Speed
Montblanc launched two limited edition TimeWalker models at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex
This year, Goodwood Festival of Speed celebrated its 25th anniversary, and official timing partner Montblanc released two new TimeWalker watches to commemorate the occasion. Dubbed ?the Cappucinos?, the beige-dialled, steel watches draw on Montblanc?s motor racing history, particularly that of the Minerva manufacture in Villeret, known for its precision rally timers and stop watches.
The TimeWalker Manufacture Chronograph ?Cappuccino? edition is a revamp of an existing chronograph, this time featuring panda-style counters in dark brown against a beige dial. The inspiration for the colour scheme came from vintage tropical dials, as well as the meters and gauges of classic racing car dashboards. The surrounding fixed bezel is inlaid with a black ceramic tachymeter, and the steel case has been brushed to a satin finish.
Inside the TimeWalker chronograph is the new calibre MB 25.10 with a 46-hour power reserve, featuring another nod to motor sports: a new tungsten oscillating weight in the shape of a steering wheel. The watch is held on a brown calfskin strap from the Montblanc Pelletteria in Florence, and is limited to 1,500 pieces.
At this year’s Goodwood, which was held from the 12th – 15th July, winner Romain Dumas was awarded one of the chronographs for his 43.86 second performance in the Hillclimb Shoot-out. All the weekend?s winners ...
