Montblanc?s vintage-themed Heritage collection of watches has been added with a new timepiece that is truly special. The latest to join the line-up is the Heritage Small Seconds Limited Edition 38, which has all the qualities to become a proper collectors? watch. The very special timepiece which pays tribute to Minerva?s history with its historical Minerva movement, the manually wound caliber MB M62.00. Montblanc recently discovers a hidden box of original Minerva MB M62.00 calibers from 2003. The watchmaker only found 38 movements hiding in the archives of the Manufacture in Villeret, Switzerland. The historical movement was inspired by the Pythagore caliber from 1948 with its very recognizable geometric shape. It was reinterpreted in 2003 with more classical shapes and high-end finishing.
The movement features a large balance wheel beating at a low traditional frequency of 18,000 vph with a power reserve of 50 hours in a highly compact design. What makes it even more special is that the iconic Minerva arrow can also be found as an engraving on the main plate. The movement is housed in a perfectly-sized 39mm stainless steel case. The watch features a lacquered two-tone salmon dial and is paired to a grey Sfumato alligator leather strap. Also, for the first time, this rare limited edition timepiece bears the name of Minerva on the dial in the form of a secret signature, which will only occur this one time.
