Moritz Grossmann Reveals its First Rectangular Watch with the Corner Stone Collection
Before Baselworld gets going later this month in Switzerland, Moritz Grossmann has embarked on an intercontinental roadshow with visits to Dubai and Tokyo in recent weeks. During the Japanese stopover on Mar. 7, the German brand introduced the Corner Stone collection that is made up of five new watches that feature a rectangular case construction. This case design is a first for Moritz Grossmann and the brand had to develop a new in-house caliber to fit the new dimensions.
There are three dial variants and two different case materials spread across the five new models that change the aesthetics of the watch quite dramatically. The different iterations are as follows:
Solid silver dial with an opaline finish in either a rose (Ref. MG-002145) or white gold (Ref. MG-002144) case with matching numerals and appliques. The hands are heated to a unique violet-brown color. The small seconds display is square-shaped and there’s a recessed central area in a rectangle shape on the dial as well. Solid silver dial with black lacquer in white gold (Ref. MG-001910). The white Arabic numerals are printed and the hands are made of polished stainless steel. The small seconds display is round.
