Timex is expanding their ever popular Q family of watches with a new re-issue model from 1975 dubbed the Q Marmont. The latest model is a nod to the glamour and mystery of 1970s Hollywood, which I believe means that it?s something you?d spot on the wrist of Jack Nicholson or Faye Dunaway after a day of filming Chinatown. The Q Marmont has plenty of built in lore thanks to the originals that were actually released in the ?70s, including the Day Date upon which this model is based. Coming in Q guise, it also happens to be a cracking deal.

The original Q Timex watches were tech forward, proudly displaying their quartz powered status right on the dial. The re-issue gets the same charming treatment, though today feels every bit as nostalgic as the rest of the watch. In a year like this one, it?s downright cathartic to vicariously jump back to 1975 through this Timex. 
The cushion case is constructed of steel and measures 38mm in diameter, and features gold plating to properly set the tone. A domed acrylic crystal displays a champagne dial with sunburst texture housing gold hands and hour markers to round out the vibe. The day and date complications appear at 3 o?clock within framed apertures. The back of the case receives an OG battery hatch for easy changes.
