Off to New Adventures with Alpina’s New Alpiner Extreme Regulator Automatic
At this year’s Geneva Watch Days, Alpina presents a new generation of the Alpiner Extreme Regulator Automatic, which first debuted in 2005. The most striking features of the limited edition of 888 pieces are the cushion-shaped steel case, whose diameter was significantly reduced from 48 to 41mm, and the granite-gray dial decorated with an expressive guilloché pattern in the form of small triangles designed to evoke the brand’s roots, the Swiss Alps.
The Alpina Alpiner Extreme Regulator Automatic, which is held by a blue rubber strap in a color that matches the counters on the dial, boasts a distinctive crown protector and is water resistant to 200 meters. The timepiece is powered by the automatic caliber AL-650, based on Sellita SW200, which can be admired through an exhibition case back.
The Alpina Alpiner Extreme Regulator Automatic retails for approximately $2,200 when converted to USD.
