Oris today has announced a limited edition of pilot’s watches that were created for Wings of Hope. This US-based aeronautical humanitarian organization was founded 60 years ago, and has since been twice nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. Importantly, Wings of Hope has used the power of aviation to bring medical support to remote and vulnerable communities in more than 50 countries, and in 2021 alone, more than 65,000 people benefitted from the organization’s programs and services.

Wings of Hope relies heavily on donors and volunteers. Last year, 350 volunteers gave their time. Fuel costs are covered by donations. Sometimes, donations come in the form of aircraft, and if these can?t be used at one of Wings of Hope?s 11 field bases, they?re sold to fund the mission. This way, 86 cents of every dollar given to the organization goes directly into funding its programs.
The Oris Wings of Hope Limited Edition watches will support its mission, too. The Holstein based brand created two models, both based on the signature Big Crown pilot?s watch and powered by Calibre 401, Oris’ high-performance five-day automatic movements. One is executed stainless steel and has a diameter of 40mm, with it limited to 1,000 pieces and retailing for $3,700. The second variant features a 38 mm solid 18-carat yellow gold case, is limited to 100 pieces, and retails for $17,000. Both come on Cervo Volante sustainable deer leather straps.
