Paint it Black: TAG Heuer Presents Special Edition of the Monaco
In terms of color, the year 2022 has been a good one so far. We have already seen a plethora of cool colorways in entirely new watch models and in variations of existing ones. While blue and green continue to be strong, more daring hues, such as red and yellow, refreshen the looks of some bestseller pieces. Despite the color craze, black continues to be an ?evergreen? classic. No other hue exudes a comparable timeless elegance and can be diversely combined with other tones. That’s why it’s been a favorite for fashion and product designer for ages.
Well aware that ?black is just beautiful?, the great Coco Chanel mostly preferred to wear and to work with this shade, which isn?t actually a color at all by definition. She made the ?little black dress? fashionable back in 1926. Henry Ford was likewise aware of this: “Any customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it is black,” the car maker once said. The Rolling Stones shared this opinion, they even wanted “No colors anymore, I want them to turn black”, as goes the famous song.
