Italian luxury watchmaker Panerai has released a new version of its Submersible timepiece for 2019. Two years back, Panerai had released the Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Oro Rosso PAM 684. It was the first Panerai Submersible model with a 42mm case with water-resistance of 100 meters. The latest Submersible watch follows on from that model and also features a case that measures 42mm. However, it?s the material used for making the case that?s really interesting. Called Goldtech, the unique material used for creating the case is an alloy made of gold which is mixed with a percentage of copper to give it a more intense red hue and platinum, which prevents the material from oxidizing. The watch gets a black ceramic anti-clockwise rotating bezel and a black dial like its predecessor, that beautifully contrast the gold-colored case.
Inside the new Panerai Submersible is the OP XXXIV Caliber, a 4 Hz (28,800vph) self-winding movement that?s based on a ValFleurier ebauche and offers a power reserve of three days. ValFleurier is a movement manufacturer that is owned by the Richemont Group, the parent company that also owns Panerai. The movement can be viewed from the sapphire crystal case back. The new Submersible watch is also water-resistant to 100 meters (330 feet) and comes matched to a black rubber strap. The Panerai Submersible Goldtech PAM 974 is priced at $26,700, before taxes.
